Sri Lankan Grid Configuration

I found quite difficult to find information on the web to configure the GPS device for Sri Lankan Grid so I decided to share what I hope that others also will benefit by this. I got great assistant from Professor Dampegama and on that day internet didn't work and I got the values over the phone. If there is any errors that are solely mine and not by Professor Dampegama.

Here is an example from Garmin GPS 72 (Most other models do fit with this)
Press the menu button
Select setup.
Press enter key to make the selection (if you are not at the setup press up and down arrow key to come to the setup selection)
Come to the location Tab (Use arrow key to come to that position).
Press the enter key to make selection (Make sure you choose Kandawala projection and not WGS 84 so that it will tally with Sri Lankan maps used for most of the projects)


Choose the transformation as Kandawala
